Demori's is a place that my wife and I go when we can't think of anywhere else to go. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is never our first choice. The food is okay - it did improve when they cut back on their menu selections... the menu used to be a novel. Long story short - decent service, okay food, a hit or miss atmosphere (large televisions in the dining area are distracting unless there is something that you actually care about being shown) - you probably wont' be impressed, but you probably will not regret checking it out for some quick, inexpensive, simple, Americanized-Italian food.

The pizza is good , the hot dago is very good . But the liquor inventory management is very poor. They have run out if Makers Mark 3 times since I have been here. Is it that tough to see that you are going through this particular item? It must be. Apparently they can only afford to buy one bottle per week. Then , oh well. This is my last time at this location . I hope you all have better luck than I did. At least they corrected the bartender that paid more attention to her phone than the customers. That's a good thing. Now if they just paid more attention to their inventory, this might actually be a fun place to go. The only standard is they share the parking lot with a hotel. If they had to be a stand alone bar. I don't think they would make it. I'm sorry gets pretty old.

Brought the family there and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We had the worst service! The French onion soup was cold, the baked lasagna was cold. I've been going here since the late 80s when it was in Cottage Grove and has always been a favorite. Not anymore. :(

Might bump this up, but five stars for the trivia. NTN power! Much of this review will be lost on those who are not fans of NTN trivia. I am an NTN trivia addict. Usually play at a Bdubs or my local watering hole, Bo's N Mine. Demori's I would say is hands down the most nationally competitive NTN establishment anywhere within one hundred miles...NAY...three hundred miles of the Twin Cities Metro. It is not uncommon at all to see the bar score at Demori's place in the top ten nationally and top threes are also frequent. As I am an NTN diehard, not sure why I don't stop in here more often. It is just a short frolic and detour off of my beaten path. I think part of it is the last time I was there a couple years ago, there was an obnoxious, old drunk barfly who wanted to talk my ear off despite the fact that he was being completely ignored. They really should have 86'd him...slurring his speech and stumbling around badly when he got up to walk. Luckily, that dude was not here this evening. They had a crew of five each playing two boards. Seemed like they knew every question that I did and a whole bunch of the ones that I didn't. They share answers here, so if you are looking to compete against your fellow bar patrons this might not be your cup of tea. However, I prefer sharing answers and competing for bar glory (especially, if the establishment has any free drink rewards for top place finishes...not sure if Demori's does or not). For you Yelp foodies, I doubt anything here will knock your socks off. I could be wrong. Had the meatballs with cheese tonight. Not bad. I could easily see bumping this place up to four stars if I come back and am impressed by some of the other items off of the menu. Tap beer selection could use some improvement. Nine choices by my count. Most exotic thing they had was the Brown Ale from the Brooklyn Brewery which is what I went with. The rest were some Leinenkugels, Summits and larger macrobrews. I'm not sure about this, but I believe that Demori's space used to be a Damon's. If you are not familiar with Damon's, it is a now dwindling chain that is really set up for sports watching in the main dining area. Several jumbo screen TV's. No lower than three stars for me here for sure. I will be back sooner to Demori's next time for my NTN fix and to try some other items off of the menu.

Grew up working in a Italian & American Restaurant so I know what Italian food should taste like. I ordered the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo for me, Meatball Spaghetti for her, kids had Mac & cheese (looks like it came out of a Kraft box). My DeMori's visit was upsetting. My pasta was way over cook and too soft. The Alfredo sauce was tasteless and very oily. I shake my head at the food because there is no Gourmet in it. Maybe next time I'll try the pizza, but then good pizzas are everywhere. If DeMori's is around the corner, I say go try them out, but don't hold your breath. If your driving to have an Italian dinner. Save your $$$. Same thing or better can be made at home from BUITONI's .... Not returning/not worth it.

i live in Oakdale and each Tuesday 6 friends and i go for men's lunch , we have visited once every 6 weeks until recently. the food is hit and miss mostly miss the buffet is poorly planned and badly executed. The staff is a bit bitter and salty but all in all we would go back because it could easily accomadate 7 people and was always available [ read lack of diners] the pizza rolls are great andthe pizza and burgers aren't that bad the italian items seem oversauced and done without any pride. the capper for us was after stopping in one day and finding the restaurant empty the TVS all turned up to maximum volume and the one elderly longtime waitress told us to wait to pay our bills because she had a delivery to make. We waited 20 minutes while she went and delivered pizzas before she came back to get her money she was familiar with us and knew we were retired and not rushing back to jobs but jeez how disrespectful you would have thought the bartender could have taken our payment but he was pretty busy with the 3 bar patrons needless to say this establishment is no longer on our lunch rotation. good lively bar don't expect great food but don't be in a hurry . the 12 foot tvs blaring away on 5 different channels in a empty restaurant is a hoot DO NOT ASK to turn the volume down so you can have conversation -- they actually can get louder-- i suppose they keep them this loud so you can't complain about the food.

If you are in the area it works in a pinch. It was before a show at the carmike theater. My husband enjoyed his shrimp alfredo. I got the veal patty parmesean. A good size portion. It was a standard red sauce. I didn't like the heavy generic Italian dressing for the salad. Service was pretty fast, we made it just before the Friday crowd. I like that the bathrooms are right as you walk in and out.

Best pizza I have ever had! Its my favorite place to go! The atmosphere you get when you're there is great. Everyone is really nice and super helpful. I would give them another try if you feel differently because they are under new management and are improving greatly!

There are elements of this place that are good, like the nice young man who served us. The food was ok, but mostly left us wanting a better version of what we ordered. This place is generally run down, dark and not very inviting. The bathrooms were disgusting, someone has obviously been smoking in the ladies room, the video games for the kids were all broken, and we got a huge whiff of bleach fumes when they were clearing the table next us. It was pretty obvious why this place is dead on Friday night when the place next door is packed!

Went to Demori's with my mother before a meeting -- the bar was starting to fill, but only a few people seated in the restaurant. our burgers took over an hour, to the point where we had to ask them to just box it because we were already late. Waitress brought them out and we immediately handed her a credit card, she turned around and went back into the kitchen -- and we waited. Waited some more. Then she brought out somebody else's food -- where is our credit card!??! We stressed the importance that we were now late, she huffed back and presented the card. Got home and the burgers were gross. Too sad. I heard through the grapevine that the manager is a terror and former employees have nothing nice to say about the establishment.

This place literally stinks. Walked in there last night and was immediately overcome by a putrid smell. The smell was even stronger in the mens' room. My recommendation would be to close for a day and scrub everything down. I couldn't imagine eating here with it smelling so bad.

Yep, service is hit and miss. Crowd is a little rough...but the pizza pie is awesome! We never visit MN and skip the IFries and pizza here!

We had lunch here and were disappointed. Although the doors were open, it was difficult to tell if th place was open for business We stood in the doorway for awhile waiting for someone to appear and seat us. After our order was taken, it was almost 30-minutes before our sandwiches arrived. My meatball sandwich consisted of two small meatballs cut in half and buried in an over-sized cheap quality bun. The side of spaghetti never came - which was okay because I can't imagine the taste being any better than the sub. My companions' burgers were equally lackluster. Definitely not worth the wait, the cost, or the time it took to wite this review.

We were a planning on eating at Demori's. We had eaten there before and had terrible service, but we really wanted Italian food so we thought we would give them another shot. We waited five minutes for a hostess, which normally would be fine, except there was only one other table seated in the whole restaurant, I thought someone would be able to help us right away, but that was not the case. After we got seated we placed a drink order and I got up to go to the bathroom. When I opened the door there was a male and female employee, both in the bathroom looking at me like I was crazy. I understand if they have a male employee clean the bathroom, but apparently it takes a male AND female employee to clean a bathroom? I waited a few seconds for him to maybe, I don't know... Leave! He continued to look at me like I was crazy... When I sarcastically asked if I should come back he said yes...and they continued their bathroom party. So needless to say we left, we will NEVER be back.

We stopped in here on a frozen Sunday in January. Our server was friendly and mentioned that the appetizers would be half-off in about 10 minutes - which worked out really great because the Italian Fries (which is why we have always come to Demori's) are on the appetizer menu. We ordered coffee which was made fresh for us. I ordered the meatballs under a blanket - which were tasty and hot and satisfying. Bonus that they came with a simple salad that had really good blue cheese dressing. The Italian Fries were not as good as my Husband remembered them being. He grew up on Dimori's back when it was in Cottage Grove and Italian Fries were "the thing" back when we started dating in the Flintstone Era. I have to wonder if the change in venue affected the taste of the Italian Fries or if my husbands taste buds have changed so much that the sweet nectar of youth has tainted his midlife taste for carbs and red sauce. One of the great mysteries of life. Anyway - The experience over all was pleasant. The menu had some sandwich options I would not mind exploring on another visit. We won't race back here for another meal but it's affordable and just fine.

I was at Demori's for an event and overall, I was really pleased. Our group was about 30 and our server was on the top of his game. The order arrived very quickly which is not always easy to do with a large group. I had the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo which tasty but the sauce was a little heavy even for an Alfredo sauce. There was some what of a wait for the bill, but I can't really complain as they were nice enough to do separate checks for people. I will definitely be back again.

It's hard to write a review for this place, because DeMori's is kind of a Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde sort of place. When my wife and I first started going there they had great drink specials, good food, a very friendly wait-staff and the most AMAZING Buffalo Wings I had ever had. Sadly, that was a few years ago. Gradually, things took a turn for the worse. The Buffalo Wings shrunk, prices rose, and the waiters and waitresses began to not really care about their jobs. We still came back, hoping to recapture past glories, but, sadly, I think we're done with the place. We just returned from a very disappointing and overpriced meal. The food was decent, but not worth what we paid for it. The waiter was uninterested, and particularly unhelpful. They refused to turn the trivia game on one of the screens for us. They even charged us EXTRA for a side of red sauce that used to come with an entree. Sorry guys, we'll have to just get by on memories from here on out.

I remember about 10 years ago I was out drinking with friends in the old location in cottage Grove and the bartender offered me a free appetizer that was like cheese with sausage, green pepper and onion, etc all in a egg roll shell that you dipped in marinara and it was one of the better appetizers ive ever had.The bartender gave me it for free cause some other customer ordered it and left before it was done.Years later I live in Oakdale and Maplewood and notice the new location and have gone with my wife a few times and can say the food was decent but didnt stick out as anything special.Lets just say I have many more favorites when it comes to italian before Demories.I havent had anything there since that knocked me off my socks like those pizza egg rolls, its not bad though.

Great food, the happy hour specials were good, but the server needed some improvement. He did not tell us the specials, highlight the happy hour specials and brought the bill before we had a chance to order dessert. We had to inquire about the dessert that came with the kids meal and the waiter said, "they are only animal crackers so I didn't think you would actually want them". As a party of 6 the waiter had the potential to build a high ticket with a matching tip, but he didn't seem to care.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
